Former Rocketboom! show host, co-producer and still part owner Amanda Congdon has thrown down the gauntlet on her website. On it she has posted a letter from Andrew Baron along with her responses to his points.
Reading the letter, one comes away with two impressions of Andrew Baron: smarmy and disingenuous. IMHO, his choice of words indicate that he had a plan to remove Amanda from the show in place for quite some time, and that now we are all experiencing the difficult part of watching Andrew enact the plan. Of course that is pure speculation, and so is this: If Rocketboom! fans side with Amanda on this one, Andrew’s great boom may soon go bust.
In lighter news, Amanda has also posted one person’s audition tape for an Amanda replacement. Maybe? or maybe…not.
Andrew Baron’s reply was captured at the recent Case Camp. The response, not originally planned for public consumption is very long at almost 28 minutes. You only need to hear the first seven minutes or so to get an accurate understanding of his position. Unfortunately, his explanation does not corroborate Amanda’s, so we are no closer to the truth than before. Pues, que sera, sera…
