An image captures a feeling; a story shares a message; a movie becomes a movement. That’s the philosophy behind the Media That Matters Film Festival. It’s an annual event put on by the Media That Matters non-profit organization.
The Media That Matters Film Festival is a showcase for short films on the most important topics of the day. Local and global, online and in communities around the world, Media That Matters engages diverse audiences and inspires them to take action. Every June, Media That Matters selects 16 inspiring films by youth and independent filmmakers committed to changing the world, in 8 minutes or less.
If you can’t get to NYC for the festival, you can surf on over to MediaThatMattersFest.org and see what you’re missing. MediaThatMattersFest.org is the showcase website for the 16, winning film shorts. The movies stream in QuickTime and the site is easy to use. Simply confirm your connection speed and then click on one of the 16 images to begin watching. Films from years three through five of the festival are in the archives, so, a total of 64 films are available to view. Worth every minute.
