NOVA, one of the popular, science programs airing on the American Public Broadcasting Service network, now offers some of its shows for streaming online.
What’s particularly nice is that the producers adapted their shows to online culture by dividing each 47 to 55-minute episode conveniently into six to nine minute-long “chapters”. These smaller lengths are perfectly byte-sized for cubiclers surfing on the sly. The shorter lengths also allow for a more reflective, enjoyable online experience at home. Each segment is also closed-captioned for the audio-impaired.
According to NOVA’s website, if you experience difficulty viewing, it may be due to high demand, not due to anything technically wrong on their end. That’s cool. The suggestion is simply to try back another time. While the shows are “on-demand”, they are not available for downloading due to rights restrictions.
