Video.Google.com: The 800 lb. Gorrilla

You know what? Google is a monster that just doesn’t know how to play fair.  Its new video.google.com serves up tens of thousands of videos, both streaming and on-demand, in a neatly organized package.  It’s better managed than YouTube, offers more professionally-produced content than Revver, and a better user interface than, well than 90% of the known Internet. Sheesh.

Are there any downsides? Sure. Price. Much professional content (i.e. Sundance Channel films) has a cost per download.

And the Adobe 9 Flash player defaults to full screen size, resulting in poor image quality and resolution. Google may have a fix in the works designed to make their player television screen compatible. If so, say goodnight Gracie to all other video competition. because currently, all other Internet video players default to index card-sized screens. The technology of Windows Media, Realplayer, QuickTime and Flash all stream video at its highest resolution in the pint sizes.

Pros outweigh the cons on this one, boys and girls. Everyone else, watch and learn. Watch and learn.
