It started out as a throwaway adlib line during a typical “Conan O’Brien” skit. It’s turned into an internet phenomenon. Last week, late night talk show host Conan O’Brien introduced his audience to lesser known college mascots in his skit “NCAA Football Mascots”.
Thanks to Conan’s off-the-cuff remark, “Bender’s checking out hornymanatee.com…”, one of these chubby, slow-moving, aquatic herbivores, partial to the warm waters of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico has risen from relative endangered species obscurity meteorically to planet-wide fame. Does it help or hurt the cause of manatees? We think almost any exposure manatees can get will only help in their survival. That being said, approach this site with a little tongue in cheek.

HornyManatee.com, purchased by NBC immediately after Conan’s adlib aired, has grown exponentially in its one week in existence. It features a “photo tour” (a la other pornographic sites) of suggestive poses struck by the FSU Webcam Manatee, manatee video clips from Conan’s show, and 17 pages of Manatee fan art!
