AOL announced a partnership with PointRoll, a unit of Gannett in a bid to offer new forms of interactive advertising on its sites. The new style of ads will feature audio and video elements.
The deal, announced, today, will enable AOL to beef up its relationship with PointRoll. Now AOL will gent an exclusive window in which to incorporate new “rich media” ad formats. Video will now run inside ad space designed normally for banner ads exclusively, and for a period of several months.
